The One-Afternoon Bathroom Reset: 5 Upgrades, 90 Minutes

There are two kinds of bathroom upgrades: the ones that require a contractor, and the ones that require ninety minutes and a free Saturday. This post is about the second kind.
Step 1: The shower head (15 minutes, tool-free). A modern micro-nozzle shower head with a filter cartridge changes the daily shower more than almost anything else in the room. Most people are surprised how much of their 'meh shower' was actually the old head hammering water against their head. Install: unscrew, tape, screw - done.
Step 2: The bath mat (2 minutes). A diatomite stone mat absorbs water in seconds and never smells like a wet towel. It also looks like it belongs in a spa, not a laundry basket.
Step 3: The drain (5 minutes). A flexible silicone strainer catches hair before it builds a clog. Unsexy? Absolutely. Better than drain cleaner at 11 pm? Also absolutely.
Step 4: The mirror and glass (10 minutes). A triangular edge squeegee dries corners and silicone joints in one pass. Streak-free isn't a matter of more effort - it's a matter of the right blade.
Step 5: The drawer (20 minutes). Travel bottles that actually squeeze out the last bit of shampoo, organizers for the deep drawer where cotton pads go to disappear. Small cells, visible contents, done.
Total: about 90 minutes, no tools beyond a plumber's tape (included with the shower head). The result: a bathroom that behaves like it was renovated - at the price of a few clever helpers.
